Just Northeast of Ellensburg sits the farming community of Thorp, home of the Thorp Mill, Iron Horse State Park and the gateway to a variety of fantastic recreational opportunities.  Located just off Hwy 90, Thorp sits right next to the beautiful Yakima River and at the edge of the Cascade Mountains.

Just eighty miles east of Seattle, Washington on Interstate 90, Roslyn is nestled in the mountains of Central Washington where recreation activities abound.  Roslyn was founded with the discovery of coal in the late 1800’s and keeps that old town flavor even today.  It is the home of television series Northern Exposure where people still flock to see “Cicely,” which was depicted in the show.  But they also flock to the recreation opportunities that are there. Backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and snowmobiling where there are thousands of acres of national forest and wilderness to explore.

There are plenty of things to do and see there as well.  Enjoy one of the many events hosted each year including Roslyn Art Walks, an annual Moose Festival, Coal Miners Days as well as the popular Pioneer Days each July.  Explore some of Roslyn’s 25 cemeteries spotted around the outskirts of town or check out the Brick Tavern, the oldest continuously operating tavern in Washington.

No matter if it is recreational pursuits or an afternoon to explore, Roslyn has what you are looking for!
